Sabbatical Day #1

So begins my third sabbatical from Intel. I’m going to try to keep up with this blog during my sabbatical, occasionally posting musings from our various travels and pictures from our summer jaunts.

Today I share two photos. The first is my somewhat delayed Father’s Day breakfast which was a blueberry, cinnamon French toast. Yes, it’s every bit as good as it sounds.

Second is the view up to the sky from my porch right now as I sip a cup of coffee and read a good book. It’s about 70 degrees and not a cloud in the sky. What a splendid way to start the summer.

Also a big shout-out to the Columbia Sportswear Employee Store where we dropped a hefty chunk of change today outfitting for our trip to Costa Rica on Saturday. The science of clothing has come a long way including SPF 50 and bug repellent shirts and pants that actually keep you cool too!

Regards, Donald.

Congratulations Donald. You know we’re all green with envy! And tell the cook I need the recipe for the french toast.

I suspect you’ll have to take some time to unwind and get fully into your sabbatical. Here’s a fun suggestion. Why don’t you write one line of a novella each day on your blog. I know you have one in you. The rule is one sentence per day and no editing the previous day. Also, you need to integrate in volunteer lines from the comments — that’s the fun part.

    Seriously, have a great time!!
