Sabbatical Day #2 – Surf-n-Turf

One of the most important (if not the most important) aspects of a sabbatical is time spent with your family. I remember talking with an old boss of mine years ago as he chastised me for not taking all of my vacation that year. I argued that I was enjoying my work and didn’t need the time. He countered that while I might need the vacation, my family needed for me to take the vacation.

This year we expanded our Oregon family as my inlaws, whom I love dearly and thoroughly enjoy, moved here from South Carolina. It has afforded us some wonderful time with them from Portland adventures to our weekly family dinner. Tonight we had a fantastic surf-n-turf dinner at their place in Claremont which I share below.

Regards, Donald.
